Objectives
Students will be able to
- use models to convert mixed numbers to improper fractions,

- solve word problems that involve converting mixed numbers to improper fractions.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- adding fractions with the same denominator,
- modeling fractions greater than 1,
- identifying mixed numbers, proper fractions, and improper fractions.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- converting improper fractions to mixed numbers.
