Lesson Plan: Solving Linear–Quadratic Systems of Inequalities
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to solve linear–quadratic systems of inequalities by graphing them and identifying the regions representing the solution.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- identify the shaded region of a graph that satisfies a linear–quadratic system of inequalities,
- identify the system of linear–quadratic inequalities represented by a graph.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- systems of linear inequalities,
- graphing systems of linear inequalities.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- applications of systems of inequalities,
- systems of inequalities with more than two variables,
- linear programming.
