There are twenty people in a swimming pool. If two more jump in, how many people will be there in the swimming pool?

Right now, there are twenty people in a swimming pool, then there’s going to be two more people that are gonna jump in. We want to know how many total people will be in the swimming pool after the two people jumped in.

A key word is “more”. If you have more of something, say you have more money, you’re going to be adding to your collection of money. So if we have twenty people and two more jump in, that means we’re adding two more people to the pool.

So we have twenty people in the pool; two more jumped in, which means we’re going to be adding to those twenty people.

And twenty plus two is twenty-two. That means there are twenty-two people now that are in the swimming pool.

Twenty-two people are in the swimming pool.
