We could work out the answer in two ways. We can multiply seven by four. Or we could multiply four by seven. Let’s multiply four by seven. Let’s start at zero and count in fours. We need to count seven lots of four. One times four is four. Two fours are eight. Three fours are 12. Four fours are 16. Five fours are 20. Six fours are 24. And seven fours are 28. Seven times four, or four times seven, is 28. We found the answer by counting in fours.
