The measure of an obtuse angle is blank. a) Less than 90 degrees, b) 90 degrees, or c) more than 90 degrees.

What does an obtuse angle mean? Almost immediately, we can look at our answer choices and see that one of the options is 90 degrees. An angle that measures 90 degrees is a right angle, not an obtuse angle. If an obtuse angle does not measure 90 degrees, then it must measure either less than 90 degrees or more than 90 degrees.

Less than 90 degrees is a smaller angle, more than 90 degrees is a large angle. An angle that measures less than 90 degrees is called an acute angle, not an obtuse angle. This leaves us with one remaining choice — more than 90 degrees.

An obtuse angle measures more than 90 degrees.
