Write the following numbers in descending order: 25, 43, 27, 75.

Descending order means from largest to smallest. We can use a place value chart to help us compare the value of each number.

First, we need to find the largest number or the number with the most tens. 75 has the most tens. Which of the three remaining numbers has the most tens, two, four, or two? 43 has four tens.

Now 25 and 27 both have two tens, so we need to look to the ones digit to compare the value of these numbers. 27 with seven ones has the most ones. That means that 25 is the smallest number.

The numbers in descending order are 75, 43, 27, 25.
