What is the value of the seven in the number 37844?

In order to answer this question, what we need to think about is our place values. So I’ve written this down. So we got ten thousands, thousands, hundreds, tens, and units or ones. So if we take a look at the number 37844, all we have is three ten thousands, seven thousands, eight hundreds, four tens, and four units or four ones.

Well, if we have a look at the question, the question wants us to find out the value of the seven in the number 37844. So we have a look at the seven and where it is. And if we take a look at the place value grid, we can see that the seven is in the thousands column.

So therefore, the seven is worth 7000 or in words, it’s seven thousands.
