In this question, we’re shown three different coins. We have to add them together to find the total number of piastres. We could use a number line to help. And we’re counting in piastres. We know this one-pound coin is worth 100 piastres. Our next coin is worth 50 piastres. So we need to start at 100 on our number line and count forward 50 more. 100 plus 50 is 150 piastres. Now we just need to add our final coin which is worth 25 piastres. 150 plus 25 equals 175 piastres. One pound plus 50 piastres plus 25 piastres equals 175 piastres.
