Determine, in slope intercept form, the equation of the line which has slope of eight and a 𝑦-intercept of negative four.

What is slope intercept form? Slope intercept form is 𝑦 equals 𝑚𝑥 plus b. In this form, 𝑚 equals the slope and 𝑏 equals the 𝑦-intercept.

We know that our line has a slope of eight and a 𝑦-intercept of negative four. So we plug in what we know. Our slope equals eight and our 𝑦-intercept equals negative four. We can simplify that equation to say 𝑦 equals eight 𝑥 minus four.
