Write the correct symbol in each box to make the statements correct. Greater than, equal to, or less than. We need to compare 11 times 12 to 15 times 10, 90 divided by 30 to 60 divided by 20, 120 divided by four to 160 divided by eight, and 30 times eight to 100 times 10.

So the first thing we need to do is work out each calculation. 11 times 12 is 132. And 15 times 10 is 150. Since 132 is less than 150, we can say that 11 times 12 is less than 15 times 10. Let’s compare the second pair of statements. We know that nine divided by three is three. So 90 divided by 30 is also three. 60 divided by 20 also equals three. There are three 20s in 60. So 90 divided by 30 is equal to 60 divided by 20.

Let’s compare the third pair of calculations. 12 divided by four is three. So 120 divided by four is 30. 16 divided by eight is two. 160 divided by eight is 20. So 120 divided by four is greater than 160 divided by eight. Three times eight is 24. So 30 times eight is 240. And 100 multiplied by 10 equals 1000. So 30 multiplied by eight is less than 100 multiplied by 10.

So the correct symbols, from top to bottom, to make each statement correct are: less than, equal to, greater than, and less than.
