The graph shows the number of visitors to a fair during one hour. Find the total number of visitors.

On the 𝑥-axis, we’re given four types of visitor. The visitors were split into men, women, boys, and girls. On the vertical axis, we were told the number of visitors for each of these four types. The first point on the graph tells us that there were 10 men that visited the fair. The second point tells us that there were 15 women. There were five boys that visited the fair. And finally, there were 20 girls that visited the fair during one hour.

We can therefore calculate the total number of visitors to the fair by adding 10, 15, five, and 20. 10 plus 15 is equal to 25. Five plus 20 is also equal to 25. Adding 25 and 25 gives us a total of 50. This means that there were a total of 50 visitors to the fair during the one-hour period.
