A boy saved 327 pounds. He bought a bicycle for 114 pounds. How much money does he have left?

We know the boy had 327 pounds. And he spent 114 on a bicycle. So to find out how much money he has left, we have to subtract the amount he spent, 114 pounds, from his original amount, 327 pounds. We need to calculate 327 take away 114. Let’s start in the ones column. Seven take away four leaves us with three. Moving in to the tens column. Two tens take away one ten leaves us with one ten. And in the hundredth column, we have three. And we need to take away one. Three take away one is two. 327 subtract 114 equals 213. A boy saved 327 pounds. He spent 114 pounds on a bicycle. He has 213 pounds left.
