The figure shows a rhombus within a rectangle. Find the area of the rhombus to two decimal places.

So here would be our rhombus within the rectangle. And the formula for the area of a rhombus is equal to diagonal one times diagonal two all divided by two. Diagonals one and two are the diagonals of the rhombus โ€” so from one corner to the other. Thatโ€™s exactly opposite from it.

So here would be one of the diagonals. We could call it ๐‘‘ one or ๐‘‘ two. It wouldnโ€™t matter. We can call it ๐‘‘ one. And here would be the other diagonal ๐‘‘ two.

So our area will be equal to ๐‘‘ one which is 9.6 centimeters times ๐‘‘ two which is 17.7 centimeters all divided by two which is equal to 169.92 centimeters squared divided by two, resulting in 84.96 square centimeters. And this is already in two decimal places. So this will be our final answer.
