Complete the pattern.
First, we have to find the
rule. The pattern begins with one pink
square. Next, there are two pink squares,
then three pink squares. What’s happening to the squares
each time? One plus one makes two, and two
plus one makes three. The rule of the pattern is to add
one pink square each time.
We also need to think about where
to add the pink square: on top, on the bottom, to the left, or to the right. We have to add one square here, to
the right each time. So the rule of the pattern is to
add one pink square to the right.
So to complete the pattern, we need
to add one square to the right. We would complete the pattern by
drawing four pink squares.
