Daniel and James drove 94 miles to Westchester. If it took them 1.8 hours to get there, determine to the nearest integer the speed at which they were driving.

We can calculate the speed by dividing the distance by the time. In this example, the distance is 94 miles. And the time was 1.8 hours. The speed at which they were driving can therefore be calculated by dividing 94 by 1.8.

94 divided by 1.8 is equal to 52.22. As we’re asked to give our answer to the nearest integer, we can say that the speed at which they were driving was 52 miles per hour.
