To find the rule of the pattern, we can use a place value chart to compare the numbers. Let’s start by looking at the ones digit: five, four, three. The digits are decreasing by one each time. To find the ones digit of the number that comes before 725, we need to add one. And we can do the same for the number that comes before that.
Now, let’s look at the tens digit: two, two, two. The tens digit doesn’t change. So we know that the missing digits in our number are two.
Now, let’s look at the hundreds digit: seven, six, five. Again, the digits are decreasing by one each time, just like the ones digit. To find the missing numbers, we need to add one, just like we did in the ones column. Seven and one is eight and eight and one is nine.
So the missing numbers in the pattern are 927 and 826.
