Which two figures are congruent?
Congruent figures are the same size and the same shape. Only two of these figures are both the same size and the same shape.
Figure a has a width of three blocks, figure b has a width of four blocks, and figure c has a width of three blocks. Figure b differs in width between figures a and c. And that means figure b cannot be congruent.
We need to make sure that figures a and c are congruent. Figure a is four units tall and so is figure c. Figure a is missing a block from the top row and so is figure c. This confirms that figure a and figure c are the same size and the same shape.
