If the spinner is spun once, what is the probability of getting a letter in the word Monday? Give your answer as a fraction in its simplest form.

Looking at the word Monday, there are no Ms in the spinner. But there is an O. There’s not an N. There’s a D. There’s an A. But there is no Y. So there are three possibilities to get a letter in the word Monday on the spinner.

And how many possibilities are on the spinner? There are six. So three-sixths will be the probability. However, we need to reduce. And we can simplify the top and bottom both by three to get a final answer of one-half.
