Both these dominos have the same number of dots. Find the domino with the same number of dots as this one.

Let’s count how many dots there are on this side of the domino. One, two, three, four, five. Now let’s count the number of dots on this side of the domino. One, two. How many dots are there altogether? We know there are five on this side of the domino. So we can start counting at number five and count forward two more. Five, six, seven. We need to find another domino which has seven spots.

Does this domino have seven spots? Let’s count the number of spots on this side of the domino. One, two, three. Now let’s count the number of spots on the other side of the domino. One, two, three, four. Does three and four equal seven? We could start counting at three and count forward four more. Three, four, five, six, seven.

Five and two make seven. And three and four make seven. So this is the domino with the same number of dots.
