Video Transcript

Arrange the given animals from the lightest to the heaviest.

We’re shown three different animals, a cat, a chick, and a sheep. We’re asked to order the animals from the lightest to the heaviest. Which of these animals do you think weighs the least? Which animal is the lightest? It’s the chick. We could lift the chick with our hands really easily. So we can write b for the chick at the end of our line which says the lightest.

Which of the animals that we have left do you think is the heaviest, the cat or the sheep? It would be much harder to lift a sheep than a cat. A sheep is heavier than a cat. So we can write c at the end of the line which says heaviest. This means that the cat would go in the middle. A cat is heavier than a chick, but lighter than a sheep.

We’ve arranged the animals from the lightest to the heaviest. The lightest animal is b, the chick, followed by a, the cat, and c, the sheep.
