Using the ratio table, determine how many people eight pizzas would serve.

The table tells us that three pizzas serve nine people and that four pizzas serve 12 people. What is the ratio here? Do you see the pattern? I know that three times three is nine. I also know that four times three is 12. Seven times three is 21. And this tells us that, for every pizza, you can serve three people.

To find out the number of people eight pizzas would serve, we need to multiply eight times three. Eight times three is 24. Using the table we were given, we can say eight pizzas would serve 24 people.
