Fill in the missing value: blank percent of 50 is 22.

Let’s represent this percentage by 𝑥. And then we’ll take care of the fact that it’s percent at the end. So “of” means to multiply. And “is” means equals. So we have 𝑥 times 50 equals 22. And we need to solve for 𝑥. So we can do so by dividing both sides of the equation by 50. The 50s cancel and 22 divided by 50, and we get that 𝑥 equals 0.44.

So this is in decimal form. And we want a percent to go from a decimal to a percent. We need to move the decimal point two places to the right, which would be 44 point. And then we can add a zero at the end. And then we attach our percentage sign, so 44.0 percent. Therefore, our missing value is 44 percent. So 44 percent of 50 is 22.
