Which of the following is not part
of the circulatory system? Is it the heart, veins, arteries,
or the lungs?
In order to answer this question,
we have to make sure we understand what this circulatory system is. The circulatory system is an organ
system in the body. An organ system is when a group of
organs work together to do a particular job. The job of the circulatory system
is to pump blood around our body. There are many organ systems in our
body. These include the nervous system,
which enables us to think and feel; the digestive system, which enables us to digest
our food; and the respiratory system, which enables us to breathe.
Now, as you can see from the
diagrams, each organ system has a different group of organs working together to do a
particular job. Within the circulatory system, you
have the heart, arteries, and veins.
So, to return to our question,
“Which of the following is not part of the circulatory system?,” well we can see
that the circulatory system consists of the heart, which is answer (A). It also has arteries, which is
answer (C). And it has veins, which is answer
(B), which means the answer to “Which of the following is not part of the
circulatory system?” must be the lungs.
