Evaluate 10 divided by one-half.

To divide 10 by one-half, there is something that we will need to do first. We need to multiply the dividend by the reciprocal of the divisor. Just that we remember, the 10 is the dividend and the one-half is the divisor in this problem. And we’re going to multiply, so change our division to multiplication. Multiply the dividend, so I’ll bring down our 10. Our dividend has not changed. But now, we need the reciprocal of the divisor. And our divisor is one-half, which means the reciprocal is two over one or two.

Now that we’ve changed our problem, we can multiply 10 times two. That equals 20. 10 divided by one-half is 10 times two, and they equal 20.
