Use the blocks to help you answer the questions below. Two and six make the missing number. Which number bond is correct? What number is missing from the equation? Two plus the missing number equals eight.

We can see from the picture that there are two orange blocks and six blue blocks. Altogether, there are eight blocks. Now, we can complete the number bond. There are eight blocks altogether or the whole amount of blocks is eight. Two of those blocks are orange and six are blue. Two and six makes eight. So the missing number from the equation is six. Two plus six equals eight.

We use the blocks to work out that two and six make eight. The number bond shows us that out of the eight blocks, two are orange and six are blue. And the number missing from the equation is six because two plus six equals eight.
