Jacob has this amount of money, and his father gives him another 12 LE. How much does Jacob have in total now?

We know that Jacob has this amount of money to begin with, and he gets another 12 LE. And we have to calculate the total amount of money that Jacob has. Let’s start by working out how much money Jacob has to begin with. We can see he has a 20-pound note, so we can start by counting forward 20 on our number line. Next, we can add the 10-pound note. 10 more than 20 is 30. Now, what we need to add is this five-pound note. What is five more than 30? It’s 35. So we know Jacob had 35 LE to begin with.

Now, what we need to do is add the 12 LE his father gave him. Let’s start by adding 10 more. 10 more than 35 is 45. Now what we need to do is add the two. Two more than 45 is 47. So the total amount of money Jacob has now is 47 LE. First, we added the three notes that Jacob already had, which gave us a total of 35 LE. And then we added 12 more. 35 and 12 more is 47. Jacob has a total of 47 LE.
