The given table shows the time Noah spends on his morning activities. Calculate the total time it takes Noah to get ready and arrive at work.
There are four activities in the table. It takes Noah 32 minutes to get ready in the morning. It takes him 28 minutes to walk to the bus stop. The bus journey takes Noah 55 minutes. Finally, to walk from the bus stop to work takes nine minutes. In order to calculate the total time, we need to add 32, 28, 55, and nine. 32 plus 28 is equal to 60. This means that the first two columns in the table add up to 60 minutes. We know that 60 minutes is equal to one hour.
55 plus nine is equal to 64. Therefore, the last two columns add up to 64 minutes. As there are 60 minutes in one hour, then 64 minutes is the same as one hour and four minutes. 60 plus 64 is equal to 124. Therefore, the total time it takes Noah to get ready and arrive at work is 124 minutes. This is the same as two hours and four minutes. Both of these answers are correct. However, in an exam you are likely to be asked to leave your answer in minutes or in hours and minutes.
