Find the perimeter of this quadrilateral.

The perimeter is the distance all the way around a figure. And we find the perimeter by adding up all the sides: 11 centimeters plus 10 centimeters plus seven centimeters plus six centimeters. When we add them altogether, we start in the units place: one plus seven plus six equals 14. Write down your four, carry your one. From there, we add up the tens place: one plus one plus one equals three.

We’re adding up centimeters in length. So our final answer will be given in length. The perimeter of this quadrilateral, the distance all the way around, is 34 centimeters.
