Select the length equal to 328 centimeters. a) 300 [Three] centimeters and 28 meters, b) 300 meters and 28 meters, c) three meters and 28 centimeters, d) 300 meters and 28 centimeters.

The first thing we’ll need to do is take our 328 centimeters and try and find out how many meters that is equal to. Here’s something we need to know: 100 centimeters equals one meter. Why don’t we think how many hundreds are in 328 centimeters? If we take our 328 centimeters and divide it into two groups, we could say 328 centimeters equals 300 centimeters plus 28 centimeters. We haven’t changed the value at all because 328 equals 328.

Now, let’s take what we know about centimeters and meters and convert 300 centimeters to meters. If 100 centimeter equals one meter, then 300 centimeters is going to equal three meters. Another way to write 328 centimeters is to say three meters plus 28 centimeters. Do we have an answer choice that matches that? We do. An equal length to 328 centimeters is three meters and 28 centimeters.

We’ll still take a quick look at the other three answer choices to make sure. Almost immediately, I noticed 300 meters in answer choice b and c. 300 meters is far too many. We only have three meters. Answer choice a shows 28 meters and three centimeters. This is still really far off because 28 is way too many meters.

The only option for us here is to select three meters and 28 centimeters.
