Video Transcript

Find the coordinate pairs for the vertices of triangle 𝐴𝐵𝐶.

Any coordinate pair is written in the form 𝑥, 𝑦. We write the 𝑥-coordinate first, followed by the 𝑦-coordinate. This is often known as along the corridor and up the stairs. The point 𝐴 is four units along the 𝑥-axis and six units up the 𝑦-axis. This means that the point 𝐴 has coordinate pair four, six. Point 𝐵 is seven units along the 𝑥-axis and two units up the-𝑦 axis. This means that 𝐵 has coordinate pair seven, two.

Finally, the point or vertex 𝐶 is two units along the 𝑥-axis and three units up the 𝑦-axis. The coordinate pair for point 𝐶 is two, three. The correct answers are 𝐴: four, six; 𝐵: seven, two; and 𝐶: two, three. These are the three vertices of triangle 𝐴𝐵𝐶.
