There are four teams in a race. Each team has three people in it. Noah made this model. How many people are there?

We know there are four teams in a race. In Noah’s model, each team is represented by a different colour: a green team, a pink team, a blue team, and an orange team. And we know that each team has three people in it. So we have four teams of three people or four lots of three. Let’s use the model to help us count in threes: three, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12. Four teams of three equals 12.

If there are four teams in a race and each team has three people in it, there will be 12 people in the race. Four lots of three is 12.
