We stack them vertically on top of each other, lining up the ones, 10s, and 100s place. We start on the right, by adding the units together, also known as the ones place. Two plus one is three. We move to the left and add the 10s place together; six plus one is seven. Move to the left one more place, we add the 100s together. Two plus two is four.
262 plus 211 equals 473.
