Simplify the cube root of 18 plus the cube root of 18.

Whenever you’re trying to simplify a cube root, it actually works in the same way as when we’re trying to simplify a surd because if we had 𝑎 cube root of 𝑥 plus 𝑏 the cube root of 𝑥, then the result would just be 𝑎 plus 𝑏 multiplied by the cube root of 𝑥.

So then if we apply this to our expression, we can actually think of it as being a one before our cube root of 18 because it’s just a singular cube root 18. So we have one cube root of 18 plus one cube root of 18. So therefore, this equals to one plus one cube root of 18.

So therefore, we can say that because one plus one is two. Then, cube root of 18 plus the cube root of 18 fully simplified just equal to two cube root of 18.
