We’re shown a picture of some crayons. We have to put a counter for each crayon in the five frame. We’re shown three completed five frames. We have to choose the one which shows the same number as the crayons. We can quickly draw a five frame. Then, we can add a counter or a square for each crayon as we count them. One crayon, there is a one counter or a one square. Two crayons, we have two crayons and two squares or two counters in our five frame.

Which of the three five frames that we’re given shows two? It’s the second five frame. One crayon, one counter, two crayons, and two counters. The model which shows the same number of counters as crayons is the five frame in the middle.
