The given ratio table shows the relationship between the number of tomatoes and peppers needed to make a salad. Describe the relationship between each ratio.

So we begin with four tomatoes and two peppers and we go from four tomatoes to eight tomatoes, which is an increase of four. And we go from two peppers to four peppers. That’s an increase of two. To go from eight tomatoes to 12 tomatoes, that’s an increase in four. And to go from four peppers to six peppers, that’s an increase of two.

So notice the number of tomatoes increase by four each time and the number of peppers increase by two each time. So to describe the relationship between each ratio, we would say for every four tomatoes, there are two peppers.
