Congruent means equal in shape and size. For example, we can say the two rectangles shown below are congruent because they are equal in shape and size. But these rectangles are not congruent because they are not equal in size. These parallelograms are the same kind of shape, but they’re not equal in size. So we can state that the figures shown are not congruent.
