We can draw a picture to help us work out the answer. We know that we have to share the oranges equally among five plates. So let’s draw our five plates. Now we have to share our 20 oranges equally among the five plates.

There we have, one, two, three, four, and five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20. So how many oranges do we have on each plate? That’s right. Each plate has four oranges. We had 20 oranges. We shared them equally among five plates. Each plate had four oranges.
