Here’s a picture that can help us visualize this. In this picture, we have two-sevenths and we want to subtract or take away one of those two-sevenths. How many sevenths would be left? How many pieces out of seven would we have? Two-sevenths minus one-seventh, taking one-seventh away from two-sevenths, leaves us with one out of seven, one-seventh.
