Yesterday, I ate my dinner at five O’clock. Today, I ate my dinner at half past five. Did I eat my dinner earlier or later than yesterday?

The clock shows the time I ate my dinner yesterday, five O’clock. Today, I ate my dinner at half past five. We can see the minute hand has moved from 12 around to six. If the minute hand makes half a turn, from 12 to six, that means half an hour has passed. It’s now half an hour after five O’clock. So today, I ate my dinner half an hour later than yesterday.
