Liam and Natalie took two identical full cups of water and poured one cup into each container. Read what they say. Who is correct? Natalie says, the container on the right has more water. And Liam says, the volume of the water is the same in both containers.

In this question, we have to work out who is correct, Natalie or Liam. Natalie said that the container on the right has more water. This is the container on the right. It does look like it has more water, but it doesn’t. Did you spot the word identical in the question? That means that Liam and Natalie have exactly the same amount of water. They both poured a full cup of water into their containers. Which means that each container contains one cup of water. So, Liam is correct. The volume, or the amount of water in each container, is the same. Both containers contain one cup of water. Although the containers are different sizes, they both contain the same amount of water.
