### Video Transcript

Calculate the mean of the values seven, six, four, and three.

The mean is the average value of a data set. We find the mean by taking the sum of the values and dividing that by the number of values.

We find the sum of our values by adding seven plus six plus four plus three. And in our data set, we have four values: seven, six, four, and three. Those are four different numbers, so we’re going to be dividing by four.

Seven plus six plus four plus three equals 20. 20 over four or 20 divided by four equals five. Twenty-fourths equals five wholes. The mean or the average of these four values is five.
