Which numbers on the number line are less than 86?
We’re shown a number line with the number 86 circled. We’re asked to find the numbers less than 86. To find the numbers which are less than 86, we need to count back on our number line. So the first number which is less than 86 is number 85 then number 84 and 83. The numbers on the number line which are less than 86 are 83, 84, and 85. To find the numbers less than 86, we counted back on the number line.
