Two equals 16 over what?
Imagine we have two pizzas. These two pizzas equal 16 slices. The denominator will tell us how many slices are in each pizza. There would be eight slices in each pizza. Eight slices plus eight slices equals 16 total pieces. Therefore, 16 over eight is the same thing as two wholes.
Sixteen-eighths equals two.
