Over, Under, Above, and Below
In this video, we will learn how to
use the words “over,” “under,” “above,” and “below” to describe the position of
objects. We use the words “over,” “under,”
“above,” and “below” to tell us the position of objects. The ants are crawling over the
strawberry, and the strawberry is below the ants. Which of our four words could we
use to describe the position of the bone? The bone is above the dog, and the
dog is under the bone.
Let’s practice using the words
“over,” “under,” “above,” and “below” to help us describe the position of
objects.
Which picture shows that the bee is
above the flower?
We’re shown three different
pictures of a flower and a bumblebee. We’re looking for the picture where
the bee is positioned above the flower. In the first picture, the bee is
next to the flower. We’re looking for the picture where
the bee is above the flower. In the second picture, the bee is
below the flower. We could also say that the bee is
under the flower. And in this picture, the bee is
above the flower. So this is the picture that shows
the bee above the flower.
Which picture shows that the mobile
is hanging over the table?
In the first picture, the mobile is
next to the table. We have to find the mobile which is
hanging over the table. It’s not this picture. The mobile is next to the table in
the second picture. But in this picture, the mobile is
hanging over the table. And in the last picture, the mobile
is hanging below the table. This is the picture which shows the
mobile hanging over the table.
Complete using “above” and “below”:
Scarlett is sleeping on the bed what David’s bed, but Matthew is sleeping on the bed
what.
In this question, we have to
complete the sentence using the words “above” and “below.” To complete the first part of the
sentence, we’re being asked to compare the positions of Scarlett and David. Here’s Scarlett and here’s
David. Is Scarlett sleeping on the bed
above David or below? Scarlett is above David. So we know the first missing word
is “above.” Scarlett is sleeping on the bed
above David’s bed. Now, we need to think about
Matthew’s bed. Scarlett is above David. Matthew’s bed is below David’s. Scarlett is sleeping on the bed
above David’s bed, but Matthew is sleeping on the bed below. The missing words in the sentence
are “above” and “below.”
What have we learned in this
video? In this video, we’ve learned how to
use the words “over,” “under,” “above,” and “below” to describe the position of
objects.
