How many lines of symmetry are there?

If this figure has a line of symmetry, then we would be able to draw a line and reflect the shape over that line, and it will seem unchanged.

Here would be one line of symmetry. If we would take this figure and reflect it over this line, this part would land on this part and this corner would land on this corner and this corner would land on this corner.

So we need to keep repeating this process until we are done and there are no more lines of symmetry left to draw. Here would be a second line of symmetry.

And now beginning to go through the corners diagonally, here’s a third and a fourth. Therefore, there are four lines of symmetry.
