The picture shows some groups of books. The books have been grouped together in piles. We’re told that there are 15 books. And they’ve been placed together into equal groups. We’re asked how many groups there are. Here’s one group, two, three. There are three groups of books.

The second part of the question asks us how many books there are in each group. We’re also told that the groups are equal. This means that each group has the same amount of books, so we only have to count the books in one group. Let’s count how many books there are in the first group. Here’s one, two, three, four, five. There are five books in each group.

The 15 books have been divided into three equal groups. And there are five books in each group. Three groups of five is 15.
