We know that seven plus three
equals 10. What other facts do we know? Find the missing numbers.
Starting on the left, we have the
number sentence 10 minus seven equals what. If we look at the first set of
blocks we were given, we see that the yellow represents three because three plus
seven equals 10. So if we have 10 and we take away
seven, we will be left with three.
Our second number sentence says 10
minus how many equals three. Again, we can look at the blocks
that we started with. We know that there are seven green
blocks and that seven plus three equals 10. If we have 10 and take away seven,
there will be three remaining. We know that 10 minus seven equals
three.
