Identify the property demonstrated in the following equation: seven plus nine equals nine plus seven.
If we had seven blue marbles and added nine pink marbles, that would be the same thing as taking our nine pink marbles and adding seven blue ones. Both times we would end up with 16 marbles. What property is it that tells us we can add in any order? It’s called the commutative property of addition.
