Convert 325 pence to pounds.

There are 100 pence in one pound. This means that the easiest way to convert 325 pence to pounds is to divide 325 by 100. When dividing by 100, each digit moves two places to the right. Three hundreds become three ones or three units. Two tens become two tenths. And finally, the five units or five ones become five hundredths.

This means that 325 divided by 100 is 3.25. In other words, 325 pence is the same as three pounds and 25 pence or three pounds 25.

You might also have been taught to bounce the decimal point two places to the left. When we divide by 100, we bounce it two places. This again gives us the answer 3.25.
