Write 23 over 100 as a decimal.

Well, if we take a look at 23 over 100, what this means is 23 divided by 100. Well, if we think about how we’re actually going to divide 23 by 100 and we’ll look at this place value table, so we’ve got 23. So we got two tens and three units.

So if we’re actually gonna divide by 100, then this means each of our digits in 23 are gonna move two place values to the right. So our two goes from tens down to tenths and our three goes from units down to hundredths.

So therefore, we can say 23 over 100 is equal to 0.23.
